Hungarian-Egyptian Diplomatic Relations Centennial by Magyar Posta

The Magyar Posta and Egyiptomi Posta jointly issue commemorative stamp blocks to celebrate the centennial of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The stamp block, produced in 40,000 copies by graphic artists Bódi Katalin and Mr. Mina Safwat, will be available starting November 28, 2024, at Filapost, philatelic services, select post offices, and www.posta.hu. The modern Hungarian diplomacy emerged after the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy in 1918 and Hungary's consolidation in 1920. Egypt and Hungary's ties date back to the Austro-Hungarian era. In 1924, Egypt established consular relations with Hungary, followed by diplomatic ties in 1927. World War II interrupted these relations, but they were restored in 1947 and elevated to ambassadorial level in 1957, with several renewals over the century.
